Edmonton Industrial Grade Roof Gutter Install, December 2013

This commercial client in Edmonton required a gutter installation on their metal rooftop. A GRS crew was dispatched to complete the work; this report outlines part of the installation and includes photos of the site. Roof Report, December 20, 2013: We set up the scaffolding but first had to dig out ice so that we had an area to put the scaffold. Then we put up 2 pieces of gutter (caulked and sealed) but can't put up anymore because a truck is parked in the way. We have to pick up and move the scaffolding by hand due to the ice (we cannot use wheels).
The riveting and 2 downspouts are done on the portion that we have up, unfortunately the truck is still blocking us from doing more. We had to break 6-8 inches of ice every 4 feet for scaffolding and downspouts. We cleaned up the site before leaving.

Edmonton Commercial Flat Roof Recovery, August 2013

This client required a flat roof recovery to prevent further water leakage on their commercial property. This is mainly a photo journal of the recovery process with some additional information included throughout. Photo Journal, August 1, 2013: Roof Report, August 3, 2013: There is approximately 20 square feet left. Both of the tie-ins are done and will be good until Tuesday. All of the detail, patches, corners, boots, t-joints and scuppers are finished and caulked. All garbage was removed and everything was weighed down, tarped and tied. We also caulked all of the seams and checked all 90's and t-joints. IMAG0810 IMAG0811 IMAG0812 IMAG0813 Roof Report, August 8, 2013: Today we removed water and put the hatch in. We also spoke with the client and explained what the water was from. One of the tie-ins had a minor leak, but once we finish the system it won't leak again. We measured the gutter along the edge with 3 scuppers and determined that we will need a 62' gutter. We have to add a 6" extension into the gutter and the other two will need 24' down spouts. The client would like us to install the gutter and down spouts. The patches are done, all seams are caulked and checked, and the hatch and scuppers have been finished as well.
The garbage did not get removed today, we called for the bin at 730 am and they didn't show. I'll call first thing in the morning.

Sherwood Park Residential Flat Roof Replacement, August 2011

This client indicated that he would like to stay in his current home for the rest of his life. As such he required a full roof replacement that would last well into the future. There are some re-occurring water leak issues with his current roof and his insurance company will not fix the interior damage until the roof is replaced. Initial state of the rooftop:

Roof Report, August 3, 2011:
The garage area was prepped along with the eastern side of the house. The vent area was sealed and water proofed. Roof Report, August 8th, 2011: The 4 scuppers on the east roof of the house were installed today and all of the scuppers were recessed. Material was completely laid on the west side of the house.
The east roof of the house  was made ready for installation of product for tomorrow morning. Client returned home today and seemed pleased with work that had already been done. We would like to inquire as to whether or not there are (2) 20 ft. downspouts and 2 elbows on the work order to be installed with the 2 new scuppers that were added to the house. If so I will need to purchase these tomorrow morning.

East roof of main house material was laid down today. Curbing and patchwork on west roof's vents were also completed. EPDM was not completely laid going up the walls on the east roof. As of 2:45pm the temperature of the EPDM on the east roof (taken with heat gun) was between 165F and 173F.
Downspouts will be picked up tomorrow morning, and the remainder of the east roof along with any touch ups or detail work will be completed during the day. Barring any unforeseen circumstances this part of the job will be finished by end of day tomorrow.

Roof Report, September 21, 2011: We began the removal of the scuppers from the house. Once the rest of the crew arrived on site we assisted in the temporary sealing of the scuppers. Counter flashing was installed to help mitigate further leak risk. Caulking was done around the counter flashing and scuppers were temporarily sealed.
