Article: Industrial Liquid Rubber Metal Roof Coating Edmonton, Alberta.
The roof report below outlines the application scope of work for a liquid rubber roof coating to an industrial standing seam metal roof in Edmonton, Alberta.Roof Coating Edmonton.
Roof coatings have been around almost as long as metal roofing has. At issue however, especially in Canada, is finding a roof coating that actually performs to its suitable use and purpose. The purpose of a roof coating is to extend the life of your metal roof and to provide leak free service during that extension of time.
If the coating doesn't provide leak free service and does not therefore extend the life-cycle of your metal roof your money is then lost.
There are two primary reasons roof coatings (specifically in Canada) typically do not fulfill expectations.
The first reason is that many of the coatings that are used in Canada are not designed for the harsh weather we have in Canada - specifically the cold temperatures, brutal damage caused by ice dams and the weight of snow loads.
The other reason is that the coating itself is just part of the job. In other words, the whole scope of work is what makes a roof coating work properly.
Applying the coating is just a small part of a successful roof coating.
To understand the full scope of work required in Canada for a roof coating to be successful, visit this link to our local Edmonton Roof Repair website and watch the metal roof coating video. It explains in detail what is required for a roof coating in Canada to work.
Our roof coatings extend the country from the west coast to eastern Canada and everywhere between. We now coat millions of square feet of liquid rubber in Canada and our crews have become leaders in the industry as a result.
I can confidently state the we are one of, if not the largest roof coating companies in Canada. Our clients include everyone from farm owners, acreages, mills, large commercial operations to industrial complexes to oil and gas sites. We have coatings on buildings at mines in the mountains, mills, on tanks, in ponds, on roofs, on foundations, industrial gutters, waterproofing walls and almost everywhere you could image waterproofing to be required.
Below is a report from Edmonton, Alberta. In 2013 this client asked us to perform spot roof repairs with liquid rubber to the lower metal roof. The next year (in 2014) they had us back to do spot repairs to the larger upper metal roof at their plant and to coat the complete lower roof included an internal hidden gutter.
To this point we haven't had a call-back for any leaks and the customer is very satisfied with the result.
August 22, 2014: Roof Coating Crew Arrives First Day For Work.
Site Location: 5604 59 Street NW Edmonton, Alberta.
We accomplished getting all the units except for one and all the penetrations waterproofed on the upper shop roof with liquid rubber and mesh and/or seam tape (which was 18 units and about 50 penetrations). All units where meshed and sealed with liquid rubber. Tomorrow we will get all the metal roof seams waterproofed (which is about 2100 lineal feet) and we probably won't start the office roof coating until late tomorrow.
August 24, 2014: Crew Arrives Back On Site.
Today the crew got almost all the seams on the upper shop roof all sealed in with liquid rubber, and the bad ones with mesh and liquid rubber. I have about 150 feet left to finish in the morning and then we will be starting the coating on the lower office roof.
August 25, 2014: Crew Arrives Back On Site.
Today we finished all the units and penetrations on the office roof. We also got half the roof rolled (coated). We are on schedule for site completion tomorrow.
August 26, 2014: Crew Arrives On Site And Completes Job.
Today we were down a guy, but we managed to finish the lower shop roof coating completely. When job was finished I did a site walk through with the customer and he was very happy with the work.
