Photo Gallery: Edmonton Shingle Roof Replacement, August 2015

The photos in this post are from an in-progress shingle re-roofing project in Edmonton, AB for one of our residential clients. As the roof reports come in, this post will be updated to provide an accounting of everything performed on-site. Photo Gallery: August 24, 2015
Prominent fish mouthing all over the sloped roofing on the top level.
There was severe weather damage throughout the roof, as evidenced by the black marks on the shingles. Whether a hail storm or other condition, this is a sign that the asphalt on the shingles has diminished over time.
Weather damage on the shingles around the roofing valley. The client did not want us to install any flashing here as part of our scope.
Although these shingles seem to be in decent condition, there are prominent signs of fish mouthing adjacent to the ridge cap. Further down, there were more signs of weather damage and cracking.
We started by removing all of the old shingles and exposed the underlayment.
We then removed the original underlayment until the fiberboard was exposed and installed new roofing felt over top.
Applying felt to the corner of a roofing valley. We wanted to make sure it was flush with the surface, not leaving any air or gas bubbles between the felt and the valley.
We had to custom fit new underlayment and roofing felt around units such as this gas appliance.
Newly installed shingles, with the ridge cap remaining.
Newly installed ridge cap, with two sloped section completed.
Next, we moved onto the gables. Like the rest of the shingles, these ones also had signs of significant weather damage and fish mouthing.
