Edmonton Flat Roof Retro-Fitting, January 2012

The brief report below details a quotation provided to an industrial client in Edmonton. They required modification to their existing roof to allow for some new vents they planned to install. We went on location to assess the building's roof and provide the client a quote for retro-fitting to be completed. The building bears a low-slope metal roof and they are in need of five holes to be cut for venting penetrations to be installed shortly. Scope:
  • One hole at 6' x 6'.
  • Two holes at 3' x 3'.
  • Two holes at 2' x 2'.
The holes must also be curbed to a 1' height, and we knew that we would need to return after the vents were installed so that we may seal up the system properly. This would require new cover plates and storm collars to each of the vents, and the in-house workers would reinforce the ceiling around the holes on their own.

The client had a low-slope metal roof which required some retro-fitting work done. Our technicians were to prepare the roof such that new vents could be installed.

After curbing the holes to the correct height, the site's workers dealt with reinforcing the ceiling around the holes themselves.
