Edmonton Commercial Flat Roof Inspection, July 2014

This commercial client requested an inspection and subsequent quotation for their flat rooftop. A crew member was dispatched for the inspection and immediately noticed several water leak issues. Inspection, July 29, 2014: They are getting leaks around three units and one corner detail, an additional leak is coming from an eliminated penetration. All of the lap seal is cracked around the three units and the corner detail. There has been an attempt to patch the leaks with sopra mastic gum in the past, but this would have to be removed for a proper repair to occur. I would need to remove the old lap seal, add flash dorm to the spots that are lifting, and apply new laptop seal to all seams around the leaking areas. This job would take approximately 40 to 50 man hours. 20140729_111236_resized 20140729_111241_resized 20140729_111300_resized 20140729_111310_resized 20140729_111622_resized 20140729_111625_resized 20140729_111631_resized 20140729_111638_resized 20140729_111711_resized < End Report > CODE: 9688 Contact Us Call our 24 hour emergency roof repair at 1.780.424.7663. Edmonton Downspout Installation, July 2014

This report covers the installation of industrial-grade downspouts at our client's commercial location. They had GRS conduct repairs to their roof in years prior, and  requested our help in reinforcing the downspout system. Quotation Delivered: July 16, 2014 After conducting some repairs at the client's location the winter prior, we advised them that there would be difficulties in repairing any downspout while the winter season continued. Now that warmer weather has arrived, it's time to conduct the repairs (or, in this case, a replacement). We delivered our quote for the installation of three new industrial-grade downspouts, and booked them in for early-mid July. Roof Report: July 7, 2014 The servicing technician arrived on site for 8:00am and did a site walk-through to investigate any further causes to leaks experienced over the weekend before. The problem was quickly identified as loose meshing where the metal meets the gutter, so it was fixed with a new piece of mesh and brush-grade liquid rubber solution. There was also a problem with the eavestroughs leaking when they were filled over a certain capacity. The problem can't be fixed while they are full, so the technician promised to return at a later date. This report will continue to be updated with more reports and in-progress photos as they're brought over from the old content system. Edmonton Commercial Roof Inspection Report, July 2014

This commercial client required a full rooftop inspection by one of our red seal journeymen. The report outlines the many issues encountered on the rooftop and includes photos of the site. Inspection, July 4, 2014: This roof is an SBS Modified Torch on replacement and it was observed in a complete failed condition. The numbers of failure areas are so numerous that itemizing each would take many hours - this report will only explain generally what was observed because the whole roof was considered failed. Generally speaking most of the torch side laps were not heated correctly which in itself has caused the roof to fail. End laps and side laps were found at numerous areas to be less than the required measurements (side laps at 3” and connecting rolls at 6”). There were areas observed where the field rolls were installed over flashing which is opposite of procedure. The termination points of SBS at walls where flashing is required is not done, the rolls were not cut at the corners prior to the next roll installed, and drainage was not designed correctly (the slope is not appropriate). There were numerous improperly applied repair patches at seams that were failed. Much of the detail work at the corners of units and penetrations was done incorrectly, and the flashing membrane at the parapets did not extend in many instances fully up the vertical to the top of the parapet and across and terminating at the outside edge. The stripping at the parapet walls was not adhered correctly in many instances, and it did not extend at least 4” over the field. Considering the numerous application issues the roof application is over-all in a failed condition. 20140428_133742_resized_1 20140428_133747_resized_1 20140428_133752_resized_1 20140428_133824_resized_1 20140428_133847_resized_1 20140428_133901_resized_1 20140428_133956_resized_1 20140428_134002_resized_1 20140428_134011_resized_1 20140428_134035_resized_1 20140428_134059_resized 20140428_134129_resized_1 20140428_134135_resized_1 20140428_134144_resized_1 20140428_134149_resized_1 20140428_135406_resized_1 < End Report > CODE: 14225 Contact Us Call our 24 hour emergency roof repair at 1.780.424.7663.
