The following report details some quick repairs made to a residential flat roof (tar and gravel) in Edmonton. The current system was blistering and required maintenance. We delivered a quotation for the customer's flat roof, covering both temporary repair and full-replacement options. They requested that we perform the temporary repairs to the affected areas, so we scheduled them for service to be carried out shortly. Roof Report, April 24 2014: When working on site, the roofing technician reported that there were some serious fault points in the existing roof membrane, such that the blisters "resembled blueberry fields". After clearing spots of the gravel, they attended to these blisters by repairing them with sopramastic, reinforced mesh, and poly plastic. The six vent areas believed to require replacing were in better condition than had originally been assessed, so only three of them required attention. They were removed and replaced with new ones, each of which were nailed in and sealed with the same sopramastic, mesh, poly plastic that had been administered to the blistering portions of the membrane. With these repairs completed, the job site could be wrapped up and the team departed shortly after. < End Report > CODE: 8930 Contact Us Call our 24 hour emergency roof repair at 1.780.424.7663. This Edmonton client required a rooftop inspection to determine where his water leak was originating from. A GRS crew attended and discovered that the entire roof is very unstable and should be replaced as soon as possible. Inspection, April 23, 2014: When I arrived on site I began my leak inspection and noticed there was a very large leak in the middle of his shop. I went on the roof and I noticed 3 to 4 inches of water across the whole rooftop. We pumped off all of the water that we could but with the large amount of rain it was a losing battle. Under further inspection I noticed the roof only had one drain and due to where it was located it wasn't draining properly. This roof is also very soft and unstable, and it feels unsafe like it could cave in at anytime. I advised the customer of my concerns and let him know it would be in his best interest to replace this roof as it it very unstable. I also told him we would come and try to fix his leak when the roof dries up. < End Report > CODE: 16814 Contact Us 24 Hour Emergency Roof Repair. Telephone: 1.403.873.7663. Email: email@example.com. This client contracted GRS to strip off their existing shingle roofing system, apply an ice and water membrane, then re-shingle the system on their home. GRS carried out the work and later returned to address a leak in another part of the roof. Continue reading Residential Shingle Roofing Replacement, Edmonton, April 2014
The below report follows the GRS crew in their attempt to make temporary repairs on a flat tar and gravel roof for one of our residential clients. Quotation Delivered: April 16, 2014 The client had reached out to us regarding the leaks found in their tar and gravel roof. According to the client, they had beforehand attempted to make the repairs on their own, but the leaks returned and they would now like professional attention to the areas of concern. We delivered quotation for both temporary repairs and full-roof replacement options, as is our custom. The client elected to move forward with temporary repairs, so we scheduled them in for work in early May. Roof Report: May 7, 2014 The crew members assigned to the case began their day for 7:30am, and arrived on site moments at 8:00. They got themselves set up for the investigation and did a walk-through with the customer to let them know where the leaks were coming from, and what the course of action would be. Knowing the scope of the work, they left at 9:00 to pick up the necessary materials (two cans of sopramastic) and arrived back on location a short while later, just before 10:00. The team repairs three spots, two of which were fairly small but the third was some 10' x 3' and required more time. In addition to the leaks, there were sections where the metal was lifting off, so that was easily refastened and the jobsite was considered complete for 1:00pm. GRS Note: To repair these kinds of leaks on a tar and gravel roof requires that the gravel first be displaced, then an application of sopramastic and jute. This should shore up the watertightness of the roof and ensure a long-lived repair to the affected areas. < End Report > CODE: 4238 Contact Us Call our 24 hour emergency roof repair at 1.780.424.7663.
