Edmonton Roof Snow and Ice Removal, March 2013

This client reached out to GRS to have the ice and snow cleared off of the front half of their residence's roof. GRS drove out of town to assist these clients in preventing a serious buildup of potentially damaging snowfall. Roof Report: March 26, 2013 Our team drove out to the client's location for 11:30am. The team of two took a look at the roof, and found that it's in very good condition. As a brand new shingle roof, there was almost no worry that the snowpack had caused any further lasting damages. Snow and ice was built up in the valleys of the roof, with some slight water damage problems inside [Editor's Note: The report received does not clarify whether the problems had been around before this particular snowfall, or they were a result of it]. There was no problem with the back half of the building's roof, so only the front was cleared off. The crew departed at 4:30pm, each putting in five hours to this service call.   image001 image002 image003 image004 image005 image006 image007   CODE: 54042 Contact Us Call our 24 hour emergency roof repair at 1.780.424.7663. Edmonton Roof Snow Removal and Inspection, March 2013

This residential client in Edmonton required a roof inspection and snow removal service. This brief report follows the GRS crew as they removed the ice and snow. The roof inspection notes are also included. Roof Report, March 19, 2013: Snow and ice removal was required on the whole roof. The ice was built up on the north side 10 inches high, and on top of the ice there was another 10 inches of snow. Roof condition: The clients have water damage in the basement and they think it is leaking from the roof.  There are some shingles not in proper condition but if the water runs down into the basement there is probably no underlayment between the deck and the shingles. To protect the house from these problems in the future, the best repair will be to re-shingle 5 – 6 feet above the the eave. The rest of the shingles are in (ok) condition and will last for another 3 to 4 years. I would prefer to re-shingle the whole roof before the next winter to make sure there is proper underlayment between the deck and shingles. This will save the clients money in the long run. 1 2 1 2 3 < End Report > CODE: 10824 Contact Us 24 Hour Emergency Roof Repair. Telephone: 1.403.873.7663. Email: info@calgaryroofrepair.ca. Edmonton Residential Skylight Repair, March 2013

This client required a skylight repair service on his residential rooftop as there was water ponding around the skylight. A crew member was dispatched to perform the repairs. Future maintenance will be done by GRS if necessary. Inspection, March 2, 2013: The problem with this site is that water is ponding around the skylight and leaking into the home. The skylight is only 3 inches high. I have advised the client that water is getting behind the stripping around the skylight. I also advised that the curb must exceed 8 inches above roof level. The skylight is 58 inches by 90 inches. Stony Plain Commercial Roof Leak Inspection, March 2013

This client required an emergency dispatch due to water leaking into their property. A crew member was sent to inspect the rooftop and look for the source of the leak. Roof Report, March 9, 2013:
First I spoke with the client about where the leak was and then I headed onto the rooftop to clear the water and snow away. It is leaking warm water inside and very steadily. It could be the inner water line leaking but this is just a theory. Water continuously drops from the unit right by the air filters and creates a pool all around it.
Water stopped leaking inside and from the unit itself after 15 minutes of clearing the water and snow. I searched for a possible source of the leak in the TPO but could not find anything. I searched around the unit and all of the curbs and seams. Inch by inch I looked, but I did not find a single hole or anything else.
I waited another ten minutes and the leak stopped. Stop time was at 6:52 pm. The client is happy with it being halted. Edmonton Residential Roof Snow Removal, March 2013

This residential client in Edmonton required rooftop snow removal. This report outlines the work conducted by the GRS crew and includes photos. Roof Report, March 8, 2013: It was like trying to walk on a 45 degree angle skating rink. There was no ice underneath the compact snow so we removed it down to the roof deck. Trying not to slip while shoveling made it quite the challenge. The deck was shoveled off and then the screw holes for the Peak harness were siliconed and the screws were put back into the roof peak. Roof Snow Removal and Leak Repair in Saskatoon, March 2013

Below you will find two field reports for a commercial snow removal in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Snow buildup had been implicated as a cause of leaks in the client's office.
March 1 2013:
We arrived on-site in the afternoon and measured the roof, which was a bit larger than our initial estimates. There is a leak in the client's office, so we cleared out about 150 sq. ft. around the leak area (first photo).
Better shovels are on the material list for tomorrow so we can work a lot more efficiently.

March 2 2013:
Above the client's office, there are a lot of improperly sealed spots that need work, which are causing the leak. Two segments of the building have had their snow removed in preparation. If the water that leaked into his office is not drained properly, there is going to be a big problem here pretty soon.
